Repairs We Offer

Chip Repair

Over time, blades can chip from contact with bones, cutting boards, or other hard surfaces. Chip repair involves carefully re-profiling the edge to remove imperfections while maintaining proper blade geometry and balance.

  • Minor chips are included in our standard sharpening.
  • Larger chips require slight blade reduction to restore a true, even edge.

Broken Tip Restoration

A broken knife tip can make even the best blade feel useless. We reshape the steel to form a new point that mirrors the knife’s original style while maintaining proper edge alignment.
Two common approaches:

  1. Curved Spine Repair: Adjusting the top line of the blade to form a new tip while preserving most of the edge.
  2. Edge Re-profile: Keeping the spine intact while reshaping the cutting edge for a slightly shorter but fully functional blade.

Bent Blade & Tip Straightening

Bent or warped knives can often be straightened.

  • Severely bent or twisted knives may require re-profiling, similar to a tip repair. Please note: Extremely flexible blades (such as fillet knives) cannot always be straightened.

Repair vs. Replace

Compare cost, feel, and impact. See when repair is the smarter move and when a new knife makes sense.
